Top Product at the Iran Power Industry Tech Market Festival

According to the Public Relations Office of Sharif University of Technology, the joint product of Sharif University of Technology and the Knowledge-Based Technology Production Company of Azerbaijan, titled “Portable Partial Discharge Measurement Device in High-Voltage Equipment,” was recognized as the top product and received a commendation plaque at the first Iran Power Industry Tech Market Festival.

Dr. Mehdi Vakilian, a faculty member of the Electrical Engineering Department, stated in an interview with the Public Relations Office that the commendation plaque was awarded to the Knowledge-Based Technology Production Company of Azerbaijan, which has a royalty agreement with Sharif University of Technology. According to this agreement, Sharif University serves as the scientific and research arm, providing quality control, research and development, and necessary specialized training for the two partial discharge measurement devices, PDCAM and PDMA, of the company.

He added that this is the first success of Sharif University of Technology in its royalty agreements at this level. Such achievements provide a model and roadmap for the university and its young researchers to showcase their capabilities and skills to the industry and meet the industry’s needs for technological products.

It is worth mentioning that the High Voltage Research Laboratory of the Electrical Engineering Department, under the supervision and guidance of Dr. Mehdi Vakilian, has been designing and developing the “Portable Partial Discharge Measurement Device” since 2017. Dr. Keyvan Firoozi and Dr. Mehrdad Valizadeh, alumni of the Electrical Engineering Department of Sharif University, are the founders of the Knowledge-Based Technology Production Company of Azerbaijan.
