Description:
This course is designed to provide an in-depth review of advanced topics in data networks. Data networks have evolved rapidly during the past two decades. The objective of this course is to review important concepts that have profound importance in the practical deployment of data networks. The course provides a review of new technologies such as optical networks and their evolution in providing new data services, packet-based voice networks, quality of service in data networks, and software-defined networks. Noting the rapid evolution of technology in this field, students should review course material and suggested papers and reference books. Also, students should choose a related topic and do a detailed review and study on the subject. They should present their results as class presentations and term papers.
