Sharif Students Win 12 Medals in the 16th National Scientific Olympiad

Following their astonishing success in the first stage of the 16th National Scientific Olympiad for University Students, Sharif University of Technology Students won 12 Medals in the final stage of the Olympiad held in July 2011, and ranked first in chemistry, physics, mathematics, electrical engineering and economics.

Altogether, the number of Sharif students who were chosen as top participants in this Olympiad amounted to 9 in physics, 8 in civil engineering, 7 in electrical engineering, 7 in chemical engineering, 6 in chemistry, 6 in mathematics and 1 in economics.

The National Scientific Olympiad for University Students is held annually by Iran’s National Organization for Educational Testing in various fields including Persian language and literature, theological and Islamic teaching, economics, law, biology, chemistry, statistics, mathematics, physics, civil engineering, computer engineering, chemical engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, agricultural engineering and industrial design.
